VOTE EARNS RASHKING ASSEMBLY SUPPORT
Yuri Rashkin got my support in his run for the 44th District of the Wisconsin State Assembly the day he was the only Janesville City Council member to vote to allow the public to have more time to be informed and evaluate the huge SHINE project.
This was not a vote for or against the project, which I have since had the opportunity to learn a great deal about directly from SHINE CEO Greg Piefer. It was a vote to respect the residents of Janesville as intelligent citizens and to respect his role as our representative. We can be sure, if elected, he will listen to and represent us, his constituents.
He is also very active in encouraging local businesses and talent. Both are key to this new economic era. Finally, he donates hours to keeping people informed via the latest social media.
We happen to have excellent Democratic candidates to choose from. I feel strongly that if you want to be sure to have an ear and a voice in Madison, get to know Yuri and then vote for him Aug. 14 in the primary election.

RASHKIN’S VALUES WILL SERVE JANESVILLE WELL IN ASSEMBLY
I will be placing my vote on Aug. 14 for Yuri Rashkin. While serving on the city council, Yuri always acted in the best interests of Janesville’s citizens. yuri has my values.
Joe Knilans’ voting record has stomped on the values held dear to me. Knilans voted to strip public employees of their collective bargaining rights. He voted to support the relaxation of regulations concerning wetlands. Knilans voted to support repeal of the equal pay for equal work law in Wisconsin – a law that protected women, minorities and veterans.
Knilans supported the restrictive voter ID law that would place an unfair burden on the elderly, minorities and students. Knilans voted to allow nonmedically trained individuals other than a parent/guardian to administer prescription or nonprescription drugs to minors – potentially deadly for our kids.
Knilans even went after our seniors, by supporting a bill that protects abusers of seniors and limits the victims’ recourse to get justice via legal action against their abusers.
Knilans has also voted to severely limit women’s reproductive rights.
Knilans has not done one thing to help bring jobs to Janesville. The special jobs session of the Legislature last fall resulted in not one jobs bill.
These positions are anathema to my values. And they are not Yuri Rashkin’s values, which is why I am supporting Yuri.
